Petroleum futures were higher after the Federal Reserve's interest-rate cut raised hopes for global economic growth. The Nymex November West Texas Intermediate crude contract was up by $1.20 to $71.10/bbl on Thursday and the October WTI contract was $1.10 higher at $72/bbl.
