Qualcomm is preparing to lay off 226 employees across 16 facilities in San Diego, including its headquarters, starting the week of November 12. This move is part of a larger strategy to realign resources towards new business opportunities.

It’s worth mentioning that Qualcomm’s latest decision to lay off hundreds of workers comes less than a year after the brand let go of thousands of workers. In 2023, the company laid off over 1,250 employees. Notably, the smartphone chipset giant recorded $35.8 billion in revenue last year.

This is the chipmaker's second round of layoffs over the past year, while the company recorded billions in revenue.
